Since joining AV integrator AVI-SPL in June 2009, Mr. Michael Brandofino’s vision has served to establish the organization as the dominant player in video and unified communications services. As part of this initiative, Mr. Brandofino has played an integral role in the launch of ConferencePoint™, AVI-SPL’s own managed conferencing service support for both traditional video and telepresence environments.
Mr. Brandofino previously served as CEO for Glowpoint, Inc., a top provider of advanced video communications solutions. He is considered to be one of the industry’s foremost leading visionaries, and was awarded the Telespan PACE award in 2008 for his contributions to the advancement of video communications.
Prior to taking over as CEO for Glowpoint in 2006, Brandofino was the CTO, having joined the company when his consulting business, the Johns Brook Company, was acquired in 2000. As CTO he was responsible for building the team and developing the Glowpoint network and services. His team led nine patents and numerous industry firsts as it relates to video communications services.
Brandofino has over 18 years of experience in the video communications space, which started when he co-founded Face to Face Communications, a video equipment reseller, in 1992. The organization was subsequently acquired by the Johns Brook Company in 1997.
